Enjoy these Styles and musical qualities:
Ambient, Beat, Canterbury, Difficult, Jazz, Symphonic, Space, Psychedelic
Other styles/genres/qualities of music that I like not listed above:
Early '60s pop and R&B, '60s-era Soul, mainstream early '70s classic rock
Favorite or well-respected bands/artists
As far as specifically prog-related stuff goes - King Crimson (orig. incarnation, not Discipline/Projekts), Genesis (Phillips/Hackett eras), Hatfield, early Caravan, Anglagard, Yes, PFM, Banco's first two albums, Floyd.

I enjoy several jazz and fusion artists - Miles, Coltrane, Eric Dolphy, Charles Mingus, Thelonious Monk, Mahavishnu. I am huge on Gustav Mahler and the various film musics that he spawned. Enjoy lots of other classical, absolutely huge on Renaissance polyphony. Some modern classical.

However, at least half of my musical tastes are more elemental and only peripherally related to prog - The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Van Morrison, Stones, R.E.M. (through Pageant), Joy Division, Nick Drake, Zeppelin, Kinks (through Village Green), Cocteau Twins, Yardbirds.

Dislike these Styles and musical qualities:
Heavy Metal, Humor, Theatrical
Musical styles or qualities that I do not like:
Anything remotely associated with rap/hip-hop, with the exception of some trip-hop, pretty much all music that has been popular in the past ten years, early 70s cheese-pop, bubblegum from all eras. I am at least open-minded to everything remotely prog-related.
Occupation(s):
