Other styles/genres/qualities of music that I like not listed above: I consider myself primarily a fan of experimental European rock from the 1970’s, but I am certainly not an exclusivist in that regard. My interests vary, but I have a deep appreciation for symphonic and chamber inspired experimental rock that incorporates as many other styles as possible, such as folk and jazz with layers of counterpoint and dissonance; in this regard, I tend to appreciate the more eclectic examples of experimental music. Just because something is considered to be within a certain style does not mean that I will like it. Rather, the music must captivate me in a way that transcends simple stylistic boundaries. Anything with compositional complexity, freshness, boundarylessness, or a capability of truly improving upon its derivation, will likely succeed in this regard.
