| Musical styles or qualities that I do not like: Techno , new wave , 80's dance music , general top 40 music above all (just too commercial) Surprisingly, I think some French rap (MC Solaar) is good and I can listen to some (but not much) Eminem, but C...rap the rest. Although I love Jazz, I do not care for sung jazz (Louis and Ella, Sinatra 7 Co). |
| Occupation(s): I work as a safety and environment consultant and suporting technician in a European Commission Joint Research Center in North Holland. I assist researchers for project regarding clean energies (Fuel Cells). |
| Other musical activities: I review on ProgArchives.com. Unfortunately , I lack the natural gift to be a musician and have abandonned hope to become one (mostly because of the time spent for so little progress - but also for lack of time itself). So I compensate by spending fortunes in records and related books. I would like to thank the Belgian Mediatheque for having such a great catalogue which I "rape , pillage and plunder" as much as I can. I also help out friends that play in Globalys (they are in Gnosis but it is not my doing) and hope to see release another CD. |
| Hobbies / obsessions: Outside of music, and in no particular order, I like biking (I do work in Holland during the week). - Reading is another biggie. - Around fifty concerts per year. - Some 500 hundred wine bottles waiting for my corkscrew (most are French with some Chilian and Aussie and 90% is red) but I am not a collector/speculator , needless to say that I wish that I had as many bottles as I have records but the bottles keep disappearing after consumption. I also love a good beer (I am Belgian after all) - Travelling and movie-going have taken a plunge in the last 5 years (lack of time) - Long-standing girlfriend but no kids (too many nephews and nieces though) |
| Other comments: My ideal evening is to open a bottle of wine , cook a little something (not a bad cook but lack time and not daring enough) , put on a records (fuck TV), light up a Jamaican cigar and read books (History, Geography and Geopolitics, some classical literature, some intelligent comics (no mangas or super heroes) and connect with old Canadian buddies of my younger life across the Atlantic Pond) |
