Other styles/genres/qualities of music that I like not listed above: Classical music of renaissance, baroque and romantic style and in general compositions after 1890.
Favorite or well-respected bands/artists Gentle Giant, and on the whole, composed music. In addition, there is always a certain charm to artists who stretch beyond their abilities to make adventurous music.
Dislike these Styles and musical qualities: Ambient, Electronic, Noise/Industrial/Urban, Blues, Space, New Age
Musical styles or qualities that I do not like: In general it has not got so much to do with the style as whether it has been produced with more view to the commercial appeal than the artistic view. Also, some music have been made deliberately easy and simple, and that turns me off. In addition, music that depends heavily on clichés is uninteresting.
Occupation(s): Research scientist within computer science and telematics. Also, free-lance writer.
Other musical activities: From my earliest years I have been active within music, whether as musician, composer, arranger, listener, writer, critic, lecturer, manager, collector, whatever. I have practiced most instruments and song styles within most styles from classical and church to rock, folk, jazz and dance. Music is the most important part of my life and I will always search for new knowledge and new areas.
Hobbies / obsessions: Music and literature are my real obsessions in life.
