I've written a few reviews and other articles in the past and some more recently. I don't plan on keeping this up though. I'm more interested in writing about the meta-issues than trying to describe the actual music. The latter is nearly impossible to do properly, although I admire a few individuals who come close. I feel strongly that all music will be virtually free some day due to the commoditizing impact of global communications, and I'd like to write more about this, but can't seem to get my brain around it.

Reading just about anything I can get my hands on ... favorite topics include genetics, evolutionary psychology, quantum physics and string theory, business history and modern practice, ancient Roman and Middle eastern history, religion, just about any scientific topic.

Working on my house and yard, travel, games, etc.

I also enjoy my work enough that some might call it an obsession :-). I work pretty hard at keeping up to date in my field.

Above all, I enjoy spending time with my beautiful wife, who is one of the smartest and funniest people I've ever met!

I have this terribly short attention span, which is probably reflected in my data on this site :-). I tend to prefer stuff that changes fairly rapidly and often, as well as new sounds, textures and styles. This is probably why I like so much recent music over older recordings. Other than that I try to maintain a clean living style, both mind and body. I don't smoke, rarely drink, and try to eat right. I'm a firm believer in honesty and ethics, as well as tolerance. I don't subscribe to any particular political or religious doctrines, and tend to be all over the map on issues.
