Sjef Oellers 11-April-2001 Traffic Sound (aka Tibet's Suzettes)

The third album of Traffic Sound is a mix of proto-progressive and psychedelic rock. South American influences are almost absent on this album. Only the intermezzo on "What You Need and What You Want" has some vague Latin percussion accompanied by a short flute solo. A few tracks are UK-oriented proto-progressive in the vein of Blodwyn Pig, Other tracks remind me of Love and Spirit. There is a Doors-like organ line throughout "Those Days Have Gone" and on "Chicama Way," they sound like a cross between Buffalo Springfield and Blodwyn Pig. "You Got to Pay" is typical early 70's hard rock. A pleasant and varied album.
