Rather obscure English band who played in a proto-progressive style with a strong presence of organ and flute. Most of the tracks have a jazzy feeling, but sporadically there are 60's and psych references. Furthermore, I can hear hints of Samurai, Traffic, Greenslade, and early Jade Warrior. While these bands may sound like inviting recommendations, Tonton Macoute is not up to the level of those bands. An uneven album with some great moments, but not convincing enough to keep me tuned in throughout the album.
