Sjef Oellers 24-Feb-2001 Legend

Legend is an interesting progressive folk album with strong classicist elements. Classical instruments (violin, cello, and flute) are combined with piano, organ, guitars, and drums resulting in a rather imaginative amalgam of folk, ethnic influences, chamber music, and psychedelic rock/pop. The tracks that tend towards 60's psychedelic (folky or otherwise) haven't stood the test of time very well. The 16-minute "Groove Inside" features trancey folk with an ethnic vibe sounding a bit like a less inspired version of Algarnas Tradgard. While not flawless, "Legend" is an original album well worth hearing.
