Musical styles or qualities that I do not like: Tend to disdain a lack of originality; an improvised atmosphere, where nothing melodious can be discerned; atonality and "noise"; Cookie Monster vocals; most Neo. I also loathe most post-80s commercial music and have come to dislike (somewhat) too many vocals. While I will concede that much of the Zeuhl, RIO and Avant music leave me cold, I also can say I appreciate the musicianship and innovativeness of these acts. It is just not my cup of tea, save the likes of Magma or Univers Zero, for instance.
Occupation(s): Purveyor of good will, altruism, and philanthropy.
Other musical activities: I cannot carry a note in a bushel-basket, nor can I compose music (obviously). I submit the occasional review from time to time, but for the most part my musically-related activities involve the hording of more music and active listening. I will never be caught up and many surprises doubtlessly await these ears.
Hobbies / obsessions: Foremost hobbies or interests revolve around sports and fitness. Most of my "free" time revolves around my lady. I am an avid reader, patron of The Arts (not only music either but also movies, artists in general and other nonsense). When I am not reading, I also love to explore the marvels of the cyberworld (surfing or chatting with Dirk, lol) and writing responses to innumerable emails received daily. I also enjoy the outdoors and am into animals. Last, I am also into the technology of today, so I try to update myself with the best-quality stereo equipment possible. I suppose I love CDRing (taboo?), but activity here is all but ceased to be.
Other comments: My only comment, as an original member (way back when), is that I appreciated the overture to return and participate, as best as I can, with everything the site might need or require. Thanks to Dirk for the invite and also to Tom (Touch - hint!) for the warm welcome. It was harder to put forth the necessary time in the last millenia, but I have more of this precious and rare commodity nowadays. So thus the grading begins. Anyway, as much as I know, I learn more and more everyday. This is why I have returned. I will never stop exploring this encompassing genre for as long as I take in air, so in my journey of enlightenment, it is compulsory that I share in this exchange of musical discourse.
