Very weird wild stuff. I believe that this is some sort of
home-recording with musicianship and singing augmented by the
wife, kids and pets. The music is sometimes folk or psych,
but always avant-garde. I find it to be comparable to
J.A. Caesar.

Gerard |
The Acts Of The Apostles |
Meridian |

Musea |

Gerard's latest studio effort. Mostly instrumental with 2
vocals tracks from the vocalist of Outer Limits and Deja-Vu.
The music is comparable to Ars Nova, but, it has a different
kind of vibe. Ars Nova has a kind of subliminal sinister thing
going on, kind of like Goblin, whereas Gerard's music is
more uplifting and happy sounding.

Decent symphonic. The guitar player, Terutsugu Hirayama, from Novela is also a
member (leader?) of Teru's Symphonia. It seems that these 2 bands were
going concurrently. The keyboardist of Novela, Toshio Egawa, is now
a part of Gerard. I am not sure if he is just a new member of the band,
or if he was also in earlier incarnations of Gerard.
Anyway, back to Novela: it is pretty original sounding and refined
symphonic. I borrowed this one from Roy (thanks!), so I just might
have to pick something up by them.

This clip comes courtesy of Daniel Elander in Sweden.
Here are some of his comments:
"Well, I guess you
should warn them about the love-them-or-hate-them vocals (I love them:).
The vocalist looks like a microphone, btw; he has a huge freaky haircut! He
is, as you can hear, not that good in English.
Satori is usually considered their best."
This sounds like real good atmospheric psych/prog to me. I'll
definately be seeking out some of this. They appear to have at
least a half-dozen albums as well as collections of early material
from before their first album.

Tribal folk acoustic world music. It reminds me of bits of
Vangelis' _Earth_ and sometimes Korai Orom. Good mood music that is
mellow, instrospective and delicate. They have about a half-dozen
albums, though, this is the only one that I have, so far.

The Book of the Dead |

This is Ars Nova's latest release besides the album of cover
tunes that they did with Gerard. This is another great album
by them, and possibly my favorite. This song in particular
gives me the chills it's so, good (but, maybe it's because
I just got up and the heater has not warmed the house up, yet :-)
As always, it's instrumental keyboard trio progressive with
a certain dark edge.
