# Artist Song (click to play) Album Year CD label
1 Finnforest What a Night Finnforest 1975 Laser's Edge & Love Records
This is some great instrumental fusiony prog with some similarities to Focus. The CD release contains both of the first and second releases. They have one other LP only release called Demonnights. The guitar player is now a music reviewer in Helsinki.

2 Tasavallan Presidenti Dance Lambertland 1972 Love Records
TP and Wigwam and both offshoots of the seminal Finnish band Blues Section from the 60's. TP features Jukka Tolonen on guitar. Concurrently and after TP, he recorded numerous solo albums and projects that are far more jazz oriented.

3 Jukka Hauru Enema Syringe Episode 1975 Love Records
Only this one song is available on CD, which is on the _Love Proge_ 2CD compilation. This is a great set of music that introduced me to lots of great music from Finland. There is now available a _Love Proge 2_ compilation which contains with more rare, unreleased, and singles tracks. Digelius Music is your best source for these CD's as well as the rest of the Love Records CD releases. Jukka Hauru has 2 LP releases. The first one is one Finnlevy. They both have a strong Zappa jazz sound to them, as does alot of other 70's Scandanavian Prog music.

4 Pekka Pohjola Matemaatikon Lentonaytos (Mathematician's Air Display) Keesojen Lehto 1977 Love Records
I wish there was more albums like this one - Mike Oldfield, Pekka Pohjola, Sally Oldfield, Pierre Moerlen! Much of the sound of this album is similar to the couple of tracks on Pierre Moerlen's Gong album "Downwind" that features Mike Oldfield on guitar. One of my favorite Pohjola albums, particularly because of the Oldfield guitar sound.

5 Kingston Wall We Cannot Move / Istwan Kingston Wall 2 1993 Trinity
I picked up all 3 Kingston Wall cd's used from someone several months ago and never really gave them a good listen until listening to cd's for the Finland prog shows. I am amazed at these gems that have been sitting dormant in my collection. The guitar playing is simulataneously flowing, powerful, expressive, emotional, ... Very nice stuff. Included here are the first 2 songs from their second release.
