1 | Clearlight | Vision Nocturne | Visions | 1978 | Clearlight Music / Legend Music | 10 |
Clearlight is basically the "Vision" of keyboardist Cyrille Verdeaux with
guest musicians to flesh out the music. Many of the key musicians on the
Clearlight albums come from Gong. Some notable guests on this album are
Didier Lockwood on violin, Didier Malherbe on sax & flute, and Christian
Boule on guitar. Despite the large roster of musicians on this album,
the music is largely dominated by Cyrille's piano, keyboards, and electronics.

2 | Clearlight | Les Contes du Singe Fou (excerpt) | Les Contes du Singe Fou | 1976 | Clearlight Music | 10 |
This is the third Clearlight album originally released in
the 1970's, excepting the self-titled Delired Cameleon Family album. Les Contes...
is in a more traditional symphonic mode than the prior psychedelic and spacey
Clearlight albums. This album features Zao bassist Joel Dugrenot, Gong keyboardist
Tim Blake, and violinist Didier Lockwood.

3 | Cyrille Verdeaux | Energy | Messenger of the Son | 1984 | Musea | 9 |
Messenger of the Son is a solo release of Cyrille Verdeaux comprised of
mostly keyboards and synthesized music. It is a very pleasant and relaxing
album with a few more up-tempo tracks which sometimes reminds of Jean Michel
Jarre.

4 | Delired Cameleon Family | Raganesh | Delired Cameleon Family | 1975 | Clearlight Music | 10 |
Delired Cameleon Family is the most adventurous and avant garde of the
Clearlight related releases. Featured musicians (who I recognize) are Gilbert
Artman (Urban Sax, Lard Free), Joel Dugrenot (Zao), Tim Blake (Gong) and, of
course, Cyrille Verdeaux. Great "out there" music.

5 | Cyrille Verdeaux & Pascal Menetrey | Amazone Cora Zone | Ethnicolors | 1999 | Clearlight Music | |
Ethnicolors is one of Cyrille's more recent musical expression made in
conjunction with musician Pascal Menestryl. The music is close to world
music in it's goal of connecting different cultures musically.

6 | Clearlight | Clearlight Symphony 2nd Movement (excerpt) | Clearlight Symphony | 1974 | Clearlight Music | 12 |
Symphony is the first Clearlight album and is a classic of lush instrumental
symphonic music that is also very psychedelic. The album consists of 2 side long
Movements wherein Cyrille is the only musician in common. The first movement
features Christian Boule on guitar, who seems to be making a concerted effort
to sound like Steve Hillage, and Gilbert Artman (Lard Free). The second
movement of the album consists of all Gong musicians: keyboardist Tim Blake,
saxophonist Didier Malherbe, and guitarist Steve Hillage.
