This album is part of a 2-fer CD re-issue along with
_Cancion del Sur_. Los Jaivas is one of my favorites from South
America mixing Andean folk music with inspired rock music spiced
with influences of Latin rhythms and jazz. The music sometimes
reminds of Ennio Morricone's spaghetti western soundtracks,
in the more acoustic moments. But, of course, that is quickly
dispelled with wild fuzz guitar leads.

Another band led by Charly Garcia, ex-Sui Generis. Also with David Lebon,
ex-Color Humano and Pescado Rabioso. Like Sui Generis, it is somewhat
folk and pop oriented. Kinda light prog with some occasional flourishes
of guitar virtuosity. I'd say this album is good, but, not necessarily
recommendable.

Hard-rock proto-prog that sounds mostly influenced by the first 3
Jethro Tull albums, and perhaps a little like Rod Evans era Deep
Purple. It is pretty good for what it is, but, does not have much
originality. This is their only album.

First solo album by the ex-leader and keyboardist of Mia. It is a
nice symphonic album that is basically a keyboard extravaganza. His
later albums move towards jazz/fusion in the style of Lyle Mays and
Pat Metheny.

An early psyche album with typical 60's influences - the Beatles,
Byrds, Beach Boys, etc.

A favorite for many people of the Argentinian music scene. This album
will certainly appeal to fans of the Italian progressive music scene,
PFM for example. The band is tight and the music energetic. Reminiscent
in some ways of Balletto di Bronzo. Heartily recommended.
