1 Dixie Dregs Peaches en Regalia California Screamin' 2000 Zebra Records 10
California Screamin' is a new live album featuring many classic songs from the early years, as well as a couple of cover songs, which include "Peaches en Regalia" (Zappa) and "Jessica" (Allman Brothers). This CD is a good listen, but, does not add much new to the repertoire of past Dregs releases.

2 Pseudo Buddha Evening Prayer Motive 2000 Uncle Buzz Records 10
Pseudo Buddha are a new band blending space music with psychedelic and eastern sounds in an improvisational setting. In many respects the band sound similar to the Swedish band In The Labyrinth, especially in the extensive use of the harmonic minor scale in order to achieve an eastern sounding melodic lines.

3 Dave Kerman - 5 UU's First Person Jocular Regarding Purgatories 2000 Cuneiform 12 (Mike's)
"The latest 5UU's album also acts as a Dave Kerman solo album, and continues in the fine tradition of avant-rock whose threads meet here from Thinking Plague, Present, U Totem and earlier 5UU's albums. Kerman creates a unique tension on this album, one that gathers all these influences and directions and creates something quite different, an approach that concentrates as much on the textural space of the music as on the dissonant and unusual compositional style." - Mike McLatchey

4 Jeff Pearce To the Shores of Heaven To the Shores of Heaven 2000 Hypnos 13 (Mike's)
"Creating music entirely from a guitar and effects, Jeff Pearce has become one of ambient music's premiere names. Pearce expands the possibilities of the instrument by creating sounds that almost defy that they originate from strings. He masters both subtlety and poignancy on this, his most recent and finest album, a journey through many moods and textures." - Mike McLatchey

5 Escapade Singe Due To A Faulty Premonition 1999 Mother West 11
Excellent improvisational space rock from NYC. The music is right at home alongside the Cosmic Jokers and other early Krautrock bands like Ash Ra Tempel and early Tangerine Dream. Of the 3 albums (of 5) that I have heard by Escapade, this is the best. The music is completely instrumental and floats through a series of well-crafted soundscapes.

6 White Willow The Crucible Sacrament 2000 Laser's Edge 10 (Mike's)
"The latest album by Norwegian Jacob Holm-Lupo's project is likely his finest, bringing to the table a more assured compositional skill, lavish arrangements and a stronger production. The music is still in a scandinavian symphonic rock style fronted by female vocals and stretches along a wide dynamic range, with lots of keyboards, guitars and flute. Certainly an essential purchase for symphonic rock fans." - Mike McLatchey
